Pilgrim Kids Care
Pilgrim Kids Care is a group formed by the children and youth of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School to raise money for service to people in need. It originated in response to Hurricane Katrina victims and has since expanded in purpose to include community outreach and support of local charity organizations such as First Slice, neighborhood meal programs, and local food pantries. Three signature items have been developed—a healthy trail mix snack, a delicious tortilla soup mix, and hot cocoa mix—that are packaged by the kids and shared with hungry people.
Their newest fundraising effort is the Pilgrim Kids Care shop which features items created by Pilgrim's young people as well as talented adults committed to their cause. Among the items available this winter are some very adorable hats for all ages and sizes! Please contact the school for more information about this "after school working-milliner" group.
As part of their Lutheran education, the children and youth of Pilgrim are encouraged to search for ways to reach out to their community and help those in need. Pilgrim Kids Care is the conduit through which the children's community service is focused and delivered to people who really need their assistance and understanding.
